my inspiration
My paintings are inspired by the beauty and colours of imagined and remembered wild landscapes and the ephemeral transitions of light in the sky.
My practice involves immersing myself in the wild landscapes I love and then translating these experiences onto canvas back in the studio.
my process
I use multiple layers of glazes and veils of oil paint, reflecting the light back to the viewer at different angles and creating luminosity, depth and richness, drawing the viewer’s eye into and around the painting.
The colours I use vary from muted hues found naturally in the landscape to heightened, expanded versions of these to create a more intense emotional experience.
the journey
Originals are then carefully varnished to protect them, and may either be professionally framed or left unframed, which creates a stunning contemporary look with deep edge canvases, according to your wishes.
They will then be carefully packaged and protected for their journey to you, shipped fully insured with professional fine art shippers.
